CELLINI
Benvenuto Cellini (Florence 1500 - 1571)Famous Italian sculptor and goldsmith of the Florentine school, he succesfully took part in the defence of Castel Sant’Angelo and of Pope Clementine the Seventh during the invasion of Rome in 1527. Among his main works there are: the Statue in bronze of Perseus beheading Medusa (Florence, Loggia dei Lanzi) and La Saliera of Francesco I.
